Born in Elche, David Mirete Gil is a Visual Artist who finds poetry in the interstices of everyday life, along with a quiet fascination and tenderness for the absurdity that teaches us to laugh at ourselves. His practice explores how past, present and future intersect in the quiet moments we often overlook. Through reflections on identity, territory, time, and family, David captures the subtle beauty that dwells between the visible and invisible, using an intuitive approach that prioritizes emotional connection over premeditation.
With an engineering foundation and 15+ years of creative practice, he brings technical precision to artistic exploration. His multidisciplinary approach encompasses photography, video, cgi, generative AI, motion graphics, visual programming, graphic design, web tools, sound design, and installations—fluidly moving between disciplines as each project demands. This technical versatility allows him to solve creative challenges through innovation and artistic exploration, selecting the exact tools needed to serve each project's conceptual purpose.
David's artistic practice has led to exhibitions in solo and group shows across Spain and internationally, and he has self-published two photography books, while his work has been published in various print and digital media. This artistic foundation naturally extends into his design practice, where his commercial work has earned 30+ international recognitions, among others from Webby Awards, Cannes Lions, Laus, and One Show, working with clients of all types and sizes. He has served as jury member in design festivals, including Web & Digital Media jury for the Laus Awards.
Currently integrating AI and machine learning technologies into his toolkit alongside traditional and digital methods, David represents the evolution of visual artists who let conceptual vision drive tool selection.
